"Music does not touch merely the mind and the sens "Music does not touch merely the mind and the senses; it engages that ancient and primal presence we call soul...the soul is the foce of remembrance within us. It reminds us that we are children of the eternal and that our time on earth is meant to be a pilgrimage of growth and creativity" J. It’s the summer solstice after all, and the entire northern hemisphere is feeling a little extra alive. One of my favorite parts of this project was the client’s fabulous collection of antiques and art. We really got to just have fun layering on styling elements like statement paint and wallpaper selections. 📸: @andreacalo #austininteriordesign #moodydiningroom #antiquesmodernmix #originalart

I was recently having dinner with some friends, an I was recently having dinner with some friends, and their (super-cool) high-schooler asked me what I actually do in my job/ business. After giggling for a minute, I realized there are probably more people than I realize who wonder the exact same thing.
Obviously, there is an artistic part of my job--combining textures, custom pieces, and objects curated from my travels to make a space truly unique. Doing the artistic part is truly one of my greatest joys in life. What you may not know is I also love leveraging my background in architecture and construction to take the stress out of the construction/renovation/furnishings process for my busy clients--most of whom are executives or entrepreneurs themselves. Whether it's thinking through a strategy for timeline and budget, or making sure the right vendor is selected for the right job, I honestly enjoy the problem solving process just as much as the aesthetic part. The icing on the cake is the final product is ALWAYS more refined when form, function, and process are all buttoned up tight. My clients get to stay in their own lanes, focused on their own super powers while we make it all happen.😊
Now, I would love to hear something about your job/business that may not be obvious! How do you do your magic?

✌🏽 little Federal house. It was super fun to meet ✌🏽 little Federal house. It was super fun to meet the new owners this morning. Not going to lie, is made me super happy to hear how excited they are about their new home. I used the project as a sort of lab to play with some ideas in a low stakes environment, and I’m already using some of that information to inform decisions for clients. #neverstoplearning
